Biiography

Originally from the county of Cheshire in the United Kingdom, baritone Jordan Harding studied a Bachelors degree in Music at the University of Manchester before completing a Masters degree in Vocal Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music and pursuing a singing career in Europe and the UK. 

Jordan is currently a member of the Opernstudio at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, where he will sing the roles of 1er Burscher (Der Silbersee), Mituhka and Lawicki (Boris Godunov), Morales (Carmen) Perückenmacher (Ariadne aux Naxos) and Gasparo (Rita) during the 2023/24 season. His previous operatic roles include Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) and Mr Gedge (Albert Herring) for Clonter Opera), Maggiordomo in (La Rondine) for If Opera and Townsperson in the children’s opera The Orphans of Koombu for the Buxton Festival, as well as Silvio (Pagliacci) and Herald (The Pilgrim’s Progress). 

 

In concert, Jordan has performed diverse works, including the  solo cantata Il Maestro Di Cappella by Domenico Cimarosa, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis pacem and Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder . He is well regarded for his interpretation of English song and is also an enthusiastic exponent of the music of the Great American Songbook and of classic Musical Theatre.
